So recently I’ve been loving reading other blogs like mine. I think that blogging is such a nice way for people to connect with each other and a great way for people to express their thoughts.
The other day I came across a tag that ThoughtfulTash started called the ‘Why I Love Me’ tag and I instantly fell in love with it! I think it’s such a lovely idea because everyone can get themselves down about the way they look or their personality, but it’s vital that we all see the best in ourselves too. You can check out her lovely blog post here.
I wasn’t explicitly tagged by anyone, but Tash tagged anyone who wanted to do it and I thought it looked like a super idea so here goes 🙂
WHY I LOVE ME:
I LOVE… My freckles.
I’ve heard so many people with freckles say that they hate theirs, but I can’t help but love mine! They’re quite subtle but I love how they make my face look. Lots of people have said to me that they wish they had freckles and it’s made me really appreciate mine. And I love how they turn darker in the sun! They look so delicate and cute.
I LOVE… My perseverance.
If I want to do something, I’m going to do it. I’m kind of stubborn so it means that it takes a lot for me to give up on something. I like that about myself because it means I can do anything I want to as long as I set my mind to it.
I LOVE… How hardworking I am.
I don’t actually know how to do half a job of something. I always spent too long on homework and stuff because I have to do it to the best of my ability, but I embrace it because it means I get so far and do so well at school. I’m grateful that I’ve always been like that.
I LOVE… My musicality.
Perhaps a far-fetched one, but I love how I can pick up lyrics of songs and I’m able to play quite a few musical instruments. I find that it makes listening to music so enjoyable for me, and playing music too.
I LOVE… My smile.
I didn’t used to like my smile, but now I have my braces off and I have straight teeth, I really like embracing my smile now it looks so nice! I get compliments on how straight my teeth are quite often now and it’s really nice that people notice.
I LOVE… My hair.
I inherited thick hair from my nan, and I don’t take it for granted. Of course it can be a pain to wash but I love how many ways I can style it, and it looks nice at any length. Also, in the Summer I get natural highlights from the sun which turn my hair a lovely golden colour.
I LOVE… That I can dance.
I couldn’t imagine my life without dance. I don’t think I’ve gone a day without a twirl here and a step-ball-change there – it’s kind of a massive part of me. I’ve had so many amazing opportunities because of it, and I love that it’s something I can love about myself and be proud of.
I LOVE… My eyes.
It wasn’t until a few weeks ago that I actually acknowledged how nice my eyes are. I’ve always thought them to be really boring – I mean, they’re just dark brown. But the other day my friends noticed that there was a little dot in the corner of my iris, and they wouldn’t stop looking at it. I’d never noticed it before! But when I had a look for myself it made me realise how intricate all the details in my eyes are and how much I love them.
I LOVE… My strength.
I may not have had any major life-changing incidents happen to me yet, but I can assure you it hasn’t been a smooth ride. Sometimes it’s hard for me to realise how much I’ve been through and conquered without really acknowledging it. I love that I am able to stay strong when things seem rough and also that I have the strength to speak up when it’s needed. I don’t know where I would be if I couldn’t have done that.
I LOVE… Me.
It’s not always easy for me to love myself, but especially writing this post has made me realise there is so much we can all love about ourselves. Although I don’t love everything about myself, I know that if it wasn’t there I wouldn’t be me. I have been fearfully and wonderfully made, and that is something that I will always have to love about myself.
WHO I NOMINATE FOR SOME SELF LOVE:
And anyone else who wants to do it!
