I know that everyone’s getting so excited for Christmas right now, but finding things to get for people is always so hard! I love getting presents for people at Christmas, and I also love searching around to find everyone the perfect gift. So I’ve compiled a few of my ideas for what I’m going to get my friends and family, and hopefully you can use them too!
Makeup gift sets are always an affordable gift idea if you look in the right places. Brands such as Colourpop do some really lovely gift sets at a range of prices, so if you’re looking for a more expensive gift, or a cheaper one, they might have just what you’re looking for. A couple of my favourites are the All I See Is Magic eyeshadow palette and the Feelin’ Fine lip bundle. One of the best things about the Colourpop website is that they have a whole section for gifts, and you can pick a price range to match any budget.
All I See Is Magic palette, $20.00
Up And Away lip bundle, $15.00
Who doesn’t love a good candle?! There’s some really lovely ones in Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, but if you’re looking for something cheaper then they sell them almost everywhere. Candles are also really good when put with other items in a little set; or if you can’t think of what to get someone. They also make great Secret Santa gifts.
It’s safe to say I’m a stationery hoarder. I love it all! And most other people do too. So if you’re not sure what to get someone, think about getting them some highlighters or a pretty notebook. My favourite highlighters of all time are Mildliners – if you follow any study accounts on Tumblr or Instagram you will have seen them. They’re also really affordable, so make great little gifts. Stabilo also have some similar highlighters which I’ve got my eye on, they’re pastel coloured and absolutely goregous.
As for notebooks, you can always find pretty ones in Paperchase! However I’ve recently found the Whitelines notebooks on Instagram, and they’re super cool. The pages have white lines on them which mean that they don’t distract from your work, but the best thing is that you can use their app to scan your pages and make digital images of your drawings, notes and more. How cool is that?!
Make Your Own Gift Set
I’m using this idea this year for some of my friends! Making your own bundle of gifts is a really nice way to show someone that you care, but it can also work out cheaper than buying a big gift set from a shop. Depending on the person, you can pick things you think they would like. This year for one of my friends I’m making a set using a polar bear mug, a lush bath bomb, a bracelet from Puravida Bracelets (they have some gorgeous stuff!) and some polaroids of us from Lalalab. However, other things you could put in are fluffy socks, candles, perfumes or body sprays and makeup.
What is more personal that a personalised gift? Nothing. Not On The High Street and Etsy have lots of gorgeous personalised gifts for you to choose from, and I think they have loads of really good gifts for parents or grandparents because really, who ever knows what to buy them for Christmas?
Recipe In A Jar
My final gift idea, and one of my favourites, is the recipe in a jar. If you haven’t seen these, they were all over Pinterest a couple of years ago but I still think they’re a great idea! How they work is that you get a mason jar and fill it with layers of the ingredients of a cake, cookies or whichever sweet treat you want. I really like them because they look really pretty, they’re fun for the recipient to make and they get a yummy cake at the end of it! You can find lots of recipes for these on Pinterest.
Also, if you’re not into cakes (haven’t met anyone who isn’t, but if that’s you) you can always fill a jar with a homemade scrub, hot chocolate mix or something else just as lovely!
I hope this post gave you some inspiration for your gift-giving this year, I think that these all would be really nice things to give and I certainly wouldn’t mind receiving any of them. Please let me know if you try any of these out!
